Post Office Box 248 Waterproof is 18 miles north of Ferriday and about 32 miles north of Natchez, Mississippi The name of Waterproof comes from the fact that the town was often two feet under water during floods before the present levee system was built. The town was incorporated in April of 1872. Moro Plantation, Circa1843, is on the Mississippi River at Waterproof. Where Waterproof is located:
